Our youngest little pumpkin turned 5 and the world feels like a crazy place! Madi has done so much growing this year in preschool and she is constantly learning new things and making new friends. She is full of funny things to say, spunk, personality, goofiness, smarts, and friendship. She is such a fun person to be around. It is impossible to spend a day with Madi and not smile.
Madi had friends from so many different arena (school, church, music makers, neighborhood) that we decided to just do one big party at playground for kids and invite our kids also. We had the birthday party on Saturday, the day before her birthday. It was a fun time and great party. Madi had fun seeing all of her friends and loved the homemade oreos we had for dessert. The big downfall of the day was when I was gathering up things to bring home from the party and Jon was loading stuff in the car, Madi and the kids ran out to the sidewalk area in front of the building. Madi climbed up on a cement barrier thing with her friends and accidentally missed a step, falling on her poor little face and scraping it all up. She was so sad and it was so heartbreaking to end an otherwise fun party day that way. The next day- Sunday- all of Madi's birthday pictures show her scraped up face. The poor girl was uncomfortable but still had plenty of smiles to celebrate the day.
Madi wanted brownies for her birthday cake but I wanted something a little fancier than a pan of brownies so I came up with a brownie ganash layered cake with whipped nutella frosting and Hershey's hugs. It was delicious! We sure love our Madi! She is one of a kind! Happy 5th Birthday Madi!
