Jenna and I both flew into Las Vegas on Thursday night and met up there. We had to stand in line FOREVER for the rental car shuttle and then getting it all set up took a bit so we got to the hotel in Vegas pretty late. We still managed to find an open restaurant in the hotel/casino and had some midnight snacks before going to bed. The next morning we relaxed, hung out, made a target run (snacks, drinks, and meds for my obnoxious sinus infection I had developed) and then drove up to St. George! My back had gone out pretty bad a couple of weeks before so I was a little nervous about all the travel and sitting but thankfully my chiropractor sent me with a tens unit that really helped and I had lots of ibuprofen!
We met up with Heather, Chantel, and Amberly at the hotel in St. George and got settled and went to dinner at a local diner. Then we went to the Friday night session of TOFW. It was pretty good and fun to go together as sisters. When we got back it was pretty late and there was only 15 min until the hottub outside closed (at 10) but we wanted to go anyway so we all hurried and got dressed and then went out. The hotel people never came out to close anything up so we just stayed and talked and the next thing we knew it was midnight! Whoops!
The next day we were at TOFW sessions most of the day. Thank heavens for the tens unit- I needed it several times! I felt a bit ridiculous but you gotta do what you gotta do! The conference was motivational and great to hear from good speakers.
Things I took away from the conference:
1. We all struggle and thats ok.
2. It's ok to ask questions.
3. Your perception of God (and people) affects your relationship with Him.
That night we went to Olive Garden for dinner and then had some late night hot-tubbing- staying out til midnight again! Jenna and I had to wake up early the next morning and sneak out to drive back to Las Vegas for our flight. We were pretty tired and it ended up being a pretty long day of travel but it was worth it for the fun weekend with great people!
