I feel like I write this every year, but Halloween felt a little weird this year. We still had a lot of fun but Halloween seems to be the time of year when we always come down with some sort of bug. This year it was Strep Throat. Zach had Strep right after getting home from Orlando and missed school the next few days. We didn't know it was Strep yet though so we just had to wait out his symptoms until he started feeling better. Then Madi came down with it and got SUPER sick. She had a very high fever- up to 104 and had it for 5 days total and wasn't feeling good for an entire week. After 3 days of her fever I called the doctor and took her in and found out we'd been dealing with Strep. We got antibiotics but it still took another couple of days for her fever to break and she was MISERABLE! WE managed to have one day between sick kids that we were all able to go to the school Trunk or Treat together, but only Katie was able to the ward Trunk or Treat with me and Madi was still sick on Trick or Treat night- Oct. 30th. I planned the Ward Trunk or Treat this year and had put in a lot of work, so I needed to go. It ended up having a great turn out though! Just wish the rest of the family could have come!
On "Halloween" (Oct. 30th)- still weird that we Trick or Treat on the 30th here- Madi managed to feel good enough to still get dressed up and smile for a few pictures, but then she was done. She still wanted me to push her around in the stroller to not be left out but didn't go up to the doors. Zach was a sweet brother and collected an extra treat at the houses to give to Madi. She fell asleep after about an hour though and Jon came and picked her and Zach up. I continued around with Katie and her friends for a bit before heading home. The weather was actually pretty mild this year! Not freezing cold like other years!
