Colton’s Decade Birthday!

Colton turned 10 years old this year!   Holy cow!  I've been a mom for an entire decade!!  Colton is growing into quite the kid, although it seems he has hit the age where he now only gives me his "cool guy" smile.  Haha.  He is very imaginative and smart!  He always has all sorts of ideas he wants to try and things he wants to create.  He did a lego engineering camp over the summer and was always coming home with all sorts of praise and notes on how well he did!  He has a bright future!  Colton still loves dinosaurs and all things Jurassic World (or Park).  He has several Jurassic lego sets and likes to set them all up and play Jurassic World games or film little videos.  He loves all of the movies and has found some Jurassic World games he loves as well.  He knows more about dinosaurs and dinosaur history than I ever hope to and loves learning about other animals as well.  He loves going to zoos and seeing animals.  He has has a subscription to National Geographic Kids the last couple of years and will go through them over and over reading all of the animal facts and stories.   Colton keeps us on our toes and helps us become better parents.  He does his best to be a good brother and think of nice things to do for his siblings.  He has a best buddy, Cason, down the street that he loves to spend time with.  They both like dinosaurs and pokemon, and acting like boys.  I'm glad he's got a good friend!

For Colton's Birthday we had a Jurassic World cake at home and celebrated with the family.  He got some Jurassic World toys and a Jurassic World comforter, a camera with green screen to create fun videos, as well as some other fun things.  He was also thrilled because we got to pick up our new kitten on his birthday week.  He was a big part of the reason we finally broke down and got a pet.

For his party, he got to invite a few friends and his siblings to the theater for a movie- the new Boss Baby.  Afterwards we had donuts in party room.  It was pretty fun and low-key.  There were people dressed up like Avengers all around the theater to promote Black Widow so that was kind of fun as well.
