Madi Grace Turns 6!

Our spunky little girl turned 6!  Madi is so fun!  She has got so much personality wrapped up in a cute little, stubborn little girl.  We are so happy to have Madi in our family.  She make us smile, brings love and joy to our home, and says the "darndest" things.  She is so intelligent and thinks outside the box.  This kid is going places.  Madi took a full year of dance this year and it has been fun to watch her grow and learn.  She really seems to enjoy and get into tap dance.  I think she just likes that it gives her permission to be loud!  Haha. She also did spring indoor soccer this year and has done really well.   Honestly, indoor soccer, even for 5 year olds, is a bit of a chaotic mess but she held her own and went after the ball!  She has really picked up on reading this year in Kindergarten and what came a little slower for her at first, she is now picking up super quickly!  She is quickly becoming one of the top readers in her grade!  She also does well in math and loves art and music at school also.  She started the year NOT loving PE- she cried the first day and said she hated the running- but it has also become something she looks forward to now!  The part about school she does not like is the being quiet and having to raise her hand all the time if she wants to talk.  Haha, she is a chatty little thing!

For Madi's birthday, she requested I join her at school for lunch and bring her a sonic pretzel, which I did and she was very happy.  My friend Christina made her a beautiful rainbow birthday cake and Madi was thrilled with it!  She requested ramen noodles (her very favorite) for birthday dinner- even above the option of ordering something out.  She really wanted to make everyone eat ramen noodles with her, despite her siblings not loving them, but in the end was ok with them having some jimmy johns instead.   She got a big squishmallow from mom and dad, as well as some pretend makeup, and jewelry and craft things.  She was quite taken with the giant pink squishmallow.

We had a birthday party for Madi with several of her friends from school, church, and the neighborhood and he big request was a pinata!  We also played some games, had a little treasure hunt outside (love warm birthday months!) and had some cupcakes I made and pizza.    One of Madi's friends from church got the time wrong and showed up at the end of the party but we made it work and told her to stay.  Madi and Annie played in the sprinkler outside and had a blast while I cleaned up the party so, in the end, Madi got twice as long to party with friends!

Madi's Favorites:
Food: Ramen Noodles and Cheetos
Treat: Chocolate
Color: Pink, Purple, or Rainbow
Subject in school: Art
Shows: Descendants, Zombies, Sam & Cat
Books: Pinkalicious, Fancy Nancy, Princess Books
When she grows up:  She wants to be a singer or long jumper (haha, the long jumper didn't actually come into play until after the olympics a few months after her birthday- yes I'm writing this super late- but she has held on to that and does some practicing around the house!)
