North Carolina

We've been in North Carolina now for a couple months now and things are pretty good.  We're still settling in but I feel like we'll probably still be working on that until we move!  Do you ever get to the point where you feel totally settled?  It's pretty in North Carolina.  There are lots of trees, and now that we are approaching fall, the weather is a lot more nice and tolerable.  The kids and I try to stay busy with walks, going to the park, playing with friends, story times at the library, etc.  In the summer we had fun going to our neighborhood pool and playing at the splash pad in town.

When we moved out here, Jon and I mad a goal that we were going to go out and do more things together as a family.  I feel like we've done a pretty good job so far!  We've taken the kids to the movies for the first time, been to the beach, gone hiking together as a family, and we have a few more things planned we are hoping to do before the baby comes!  It's been tricky finding time to do things because Jon is so busy with work and his calling as Young Men's President but we're making it work!

Change is hard, but we still feel like this was a good move for our family!  One day we hope to be able to live a lot closer to family and some of the great friends we've made over the years, but we'll just keep following where we feel prompted to go!  I know the Lord is looking out for us!

Walking trail near our house the kids love looking for animals and dinosaurs in the trees!

There's no dinosaurs on our walk but there are lots of these lizards!

The walking trail near our house has a lake it goes by that is home to these two ducks.
The kids always make us stop to say hi!
Story time!

  1. Good job working in the family time. That is hard, especially the busier everyone gets, but it seems like those little outings are what the kids remember and talk about all the time.
p.s. That has to be the coolest lizard I've ever seen!
