It was our year to stay home for Christmas this year but we still drove up to MN the day after Christmas to spend our annual Christmas break time with family! We got matching Vikings pajamas for Christmas Eve- going along with our Vikings fun year. We had a fun morning opening presents together and let the kids enjoy most of the day before cleaning up for our trip up to MN. When we got to MN we went to Grandma and Grandpa Day's house to visit and say Hello and then we went to Mark and Jenna's house where the kids had their cousin exchange of gifts. It was just us and Mark's family participating this year but we still had a good time with it! We had a fun week doing activities, hanging with family, and going ice skating! It was a pretty warm year in both Iowa and MN so we didn't get to go sledding but we still had a great time.
On the way HOME from MN we got a call from Kristen Day- Cason (Colton's friend) had been watching our cat while we were gone and she called to tell us there was a bird in our house. Not much longer later, she called to say there was ANOTHER bird in our house. Obviously I was quite distressed thinking about the birds just flying around and pooping willy nilly while we drove home and I wasn't even sure how to get them out once we got there. I texted my friend Christina Bush, because they'd had a bird in their house not long before, and asked her how they got theirs out. Like a total super hero- she went over to our house and got both birds out before we got home. It was still not awesome having to clean up poop around the house when we got home but at least the birds were gone.
One little last adventure to end our Christmas Break I guess!
